There has been a lot of buzz and excitement circulating the globe since a new set of Star Wars movies has been announced. Sadly, today’s news is not so cheery. Richard LeParmentier, Admiral Conan Antonio Motti, has died at the age of 67.
Although Star Wars was not his only movie, it might very well be his best known role among the Nerdzy Nation. Other roles include a reporter in Superman II, a U.S. Aide in Octopussy, Lt. Santino in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and many more. As Admiral Motti, he stood up to Darth Vader and survived his grip. Loyal to the Death Star, he perished within as Luke Skywalker destroyed it. He may have had a small role in the film, but it was significant. I kind of hoped he somehow survived the explosion, and would make an appearance in the seventh movie and make up for his bad deeds by assisting the good guys.
After a moment of silence for Richard LeParmentier, hit the jump to read a brief description of his life as Admiral Conan Antonio Motti as described on IMDB.

Labyrinth is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. The intermingling of Jim Henson’s Muppets, human actors, and David Bowie’s Soothing voice, make the move the masterpiece that it is. However, Disney is doing something that I am a little unsure of right now. They are in the process of putting together a new movie titled Labyrinth, however it is not a remake and is only loosely related to the original.
Writer Larry Brenner came up with the script, which follows a young Princess on her journey through a maze to save her father. Although the concept is similar, I will be disappointed if there are not Muppets cast for the film. Another issue I would have is if Jareth, the Goblin King does not make an appearance as the man antagonist (and it better be David Bowie). My fear is that this will be a great movie, but hated if it does not contain elements from the original Labyrinth. If it strays too far, I hope they reconsider the name instead of playing on its success.
What would I like to see in the movie? Well, a return of Ludo, Jareth, Bog of Everlasting Stench, Maybe Toby as the captured King, and of course Hoggle. Of course, there is no confirmation that this will actually be a sequel, so I think I might have already set my hopes too high…

The rumor mill is churning once again, this time it is all about Disney shutting down Lucas Arts. Although Lucas Arts denies the rumors, they are almost believable due to the recent cancellation of The Clone Wars(read my previous article for my thoughts) and the initiation of Order 66 on the Lucasfilm Animation Team.
Now, it is true that the only recent games that Lucas Arts has given us are Star Wars Angry Birds, Lego Star Wars, and Star Wars Kinect, there are still other games that we have been promised, but never received-or have all but been abandoned. Games such as the long awaited Battlefront 3 and Forced Unleashed 3 will probably never come to fruition, and games like The Old Republic, First Assault, and 1313, are all basically overrun by rebels, awaiting a strike from the Death Star.
Now, before we jump to conclusions, it is very possible that there will be a re-branding of Lucas Arts (and possibly the animation studio), but time will tell. What are your thoughts? Will we see a resurrection, like the spider-like Darth Maul, or will it crumble within the trash compactor?
