Nickelodeon Brings Back the Ninja Turtles!

I feel like I am a child again.  Everywhere I look, the cartoons of my youth are returning and, for the most part, I am pretty excited.  The ThunderCats blew me away, however the Pound Puppy reboot was too far off the mark.  I was never really a My Little Pony fan, and I am no Brony now, although I have seen a few episodes and it is well written.  And of course we cannot forget the return of  Toonami!

But Now Nickelodeon has completely made my year!  They have released a preview for the upcoming relaunch of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!  In the preview, shown below, the turtles seem to be true to their personalities, and the animation really captures the spirit of the heroes.  Although this is only a preview, it seems to be a bit darker than I had expected, although I am not getting my hopes up too much.  I would love to see them mimic the original comic book characters and be a bit more edgy.

The Foot Soldiers are exactly what I expected, and Shredder looks fantastic.  I have high expectations for this show, and cannot wait for a premier date to be announced.  Watch the preview below and let me know what you think!

Be sure to pay attention at 0:05, is it just me, or does Squirtle grow up to be a ninja turtle (I am guessing he is Raphael).

For nine of the eleven year run,  T.O.M. guided us through the space aged magical wonderland that was Toonami.  He introduced us to Total Immersion Events, The Midnight Run, The Rising Sun, and Giant Robot Week (WAY BETTER THAN SHARK WEEK), and we all loved it!  However, all good things must come to an end.  In an emotional speech on September 20th 2008, T.O.M. had this to say:
