APPLE iPad Mini…Do We Need It?

On Tuesday, APPLE announced the iPad Mini.  Starting at $329.99 for 16GB, it is a (slightly) less expensive version of it’s big brother.  However, is it needed?

Other tablets out there, Android for example, come in a mini and larger size so why shouldn’t APPLE?  Honestly, a smaller and cheaper version is not a bad idea, but the price, in my opinion, is too high to justify the mini.  If it started at about $299.99, I think it would be a bit more realistic.

The complaint I have about the release of the mini (and I am not against APPLE, I own an iPhone) is that most of APPLE’s devices are clones of one another.  Do we really need an iPad, iPhone and iPod?  Sure, one is bigger, one makes phone calls (all can with skype) and one is for music.

What are your thoughts, is the high price tag on the mini a bad idea, or do you feel that APPLE  has a good thing with the Mini?  In y opinioon, forget the mini and give us more phone variety.
