Riot games recently held a League of Legends tournament with a cash reward of $2,000,000.00!  With such a substantial award, there is no doubt that they took every precaution to ensure the games was played fairly. That is why, when accusations of cheating were brought up, Riot Games held an internal investigation.

The accusations stated that some of the finalists were looking over their opponents shoulders at their mini maps.  Originally, the allegations were dismissed due to lack of evidence.  However, with such a huge audience watching the tournament, evidence was soon produced.

After a second investigation, it was found that one team was cleared, three were given warnings.  However, Team Azubu Frost was fined a substantial sum of $30,000.00 for their attempt at gaining the upper hand.  The fine will be donated to Riot Games’ charity program in Korea.

What are your thoughts on the steep fine, is it justifiable?
