When World of Warcraft was originally released, I was interested. I put off buying the game, not only because I could not afford it at the time, but something was telling me not to (and not just my wife). As my friends started playing I noticed that I saw them less and less. It even got so bad that a friends cancelled a weekend trip to the club because he was “Getting drunk” during Brew Fest. That is when I realized that I could not allow myself to play.
I love a good RPG, but I also came to realize that a game like WoW would never satisfy me. It is like playing a never ending game, and as a writer I love the build up to the climatic ending. But still, I would watch some friends play and get the “itch”.
I almost gave in just as Cataclysm was launched, until some friends proclaimed how irate they were at the expansion pack. Their complaints brought me back down to solid ground. But now, Mists of Panderia is out. Many people seem to think that the pandas will restore the world of Azeroth.
What are your thoughts on Mists of Panderia so far? I admit, the Panderians look fantastic, but does anyone else think that Blizzard summoned their inner Kung Foo Panda for this? What I want to know is when Jack Black will make his W0W commercial about Mists of Panderia.
