Every Final Fantasy Fan Boy/Girl either loves or hates Final Fantasy 7. I happen to be one that loves it, that is why the video below made me smile.
Italian Film Maker, Gionata Medeot told Kotaku that he hopes this teaser trailer will help him raise enough funds to put the film into full production. When asked if he is worried about possible legal action from Square Enix, Gionata had the following to say:
“I know,” he said, “but my lady Tifa knows Hironobu Sakaguchi and when we finish the teaser we’ll send it to him and we hope to be blessed; if not we’ll put it on YouTube equally and fingers crossed.”
Sadly, a similar attempt was made back in 2010 for a fan made Chrono Trigger Movie. Unfortunately it was stopped by Square Enix.
As skeptical as I am about video games being made into movies, I would be pretty excited about this one. The visualization seems to capture Final Fantasy VII almost perfectly. What are your thoughts, would you see it in a theater?
