In all honesty, what I know about gaming can be summed up in two words – not much. But I do have a son who lived and breathed gaming. I’m talking about the kid who would invite all his friends over after school on Fridays and they would be up until 3:00 a.m. on Saturday involved in some type of gaming tournaments. And then they were back up at noon on Saturday, picking up where they left off the night before.
Now he makes his living in the gaming industry, which doesn’t come as a big surprise. And now I have a grandson, so I have a feeling his father (my son) will pass on the love of gaming to him. So being the dedicated Nana that I am, I have decided it’s time for me to try to delve deeper into the world of gaming. My first goal was to determine which gaming system is the best.
Since I literally had no idea where to begin to go to learn more (is there Nintendo for Dummies?) I decided I would start with “experts” in this area. So who better to ask than a group of teen-aged boys?
I just happen to know of a group so I asked them two questions: (1) What gaming system do you think is best and (2) what’s the best game?
My survey population consisted of seven young men. Most of them were fifteen and sixteen year olds, and there was one thirteen year old in the group. From what the majority of them told me, Playstation III is the best system. I had two of them who said they like X-Box best, and one of them mentioned the older hand-held games, but even they said Playstation III is the best system.
Next time I’ll share their thoughts on the best game. Of course since my grandson isn’t even two years old, who knows what will be available when he starts gaming!
