End of Week thoughts

As I sit here at at my desk, already procrastinating for over an hour, I started to think about all of the old gaming systems out there.  The NES, Genesis, PSone, PSP, Atari, and others seem to sit on our shelves, jealous of the new kids in town.  When a new system is released, there is always a bit of overlapping time in which the developers are creating games for the new and old, but eventually the old is forgotten.

Many of us spend a lot of money on our systems.  Between the console, the games, and the peripherals, and then leave them to sit patiently for us to get nostalgic.  Sometimes I feel guilty looking at all of my systems on the shelf, although I do try to play each one on a consistent basis.  There are just too many good, old games out there.

Something that I had always wished for was for the developers to release games for the old systems.  Maybe as a bonus for purchasing their games.  Maybe as a way to tell a back or side story.  There is so much unused potential still alive in the old systems.  What are your thoughts on the subject, is there a market for the production of games on the old systems?

While you ponder, I thought i would leave you with some Fan Art that I found!  Feel free to share your fan art in teh comments section of Nerdzy.com!
