NEO GEO: The System That Will Not Die

I have never played a Neo Geo console.  Sure, I have played the games in an arcade, but the home console has eluded my grasp.  Limited funds, or limited availability locally were always my downfall, even today, the only Neo Geo in my collection of thirty plus consoles is a Blue Camouflage Neo Geo handheld, and I only have two games for it.

Lucky for me, the Neo Geo keeps popping up every couple of years, like the wooden version.   Someday, I will add the Neo Geo to my collection, maybe even sooner than I thought.  On December 6th, we can expect to see the Neo Geo X Entertainment System hit store shelves for only $200!  The Neo X Gold will come pre-packaged with 20 pre-installed games, including Fatal Fury SpecialSamurai Shodown IIMetal Slug and The King of Fighters ’95.

The system will be mainly a handheld device with a 4.3 inch screen, however it will also include a docking station which not only charges the handheld, but also allows for HDMI and A/V to play on your TV.  A Joystick will also be included.  Although there is no official announcement of future game releases, there will be an expandable game slot,

What are your thoughts on the constant resurrection of the Ne Geo?  Will you purchase the Neo Geo X?
