Gamers that purchased the Xbox 360 version of the Silent Hill HD collection are a little miffed at Konami’s decision not to patch the issues with the game. The reason given was due to “technical issues and resources”, however the PS3 version did receive a patch. To me, the decision seems pretty generic. Could it be that the Xbox version is just too damaged to justify the time and resources spent on a fix?
The lack of a fix for the 360 is worrisome. Why would they continue to sell a game that admittedly does not work correctly, especially on such a sought after collection? Despite keeping the game on the market, Konami has finally come up with a solution. If you purchased the game before August 8th, you can send your receipt to Konami’s Customer Service . They will then verify the date of purchase and the legitimacy of the receipt and contact you with instructions on how to exchange your copy. The downside of this solution is that Konami is not even guaranteeing that you will get an updated Version of Silent Hill HD for exchange!
“The exchange is for other Konami titles or versions of titles.”
If you purchased your copy before August 8th, you should contact Customer Support soon, because you only have until October 7th to request an exchange. I really feel bad for those that might have purchased their broken copy on August 9th.
How do you feel about Konami’s solution? Do you feel that Microsoft should step in and force Konami to update teh game accordingly?
